If you haven’t heard of Donald Miller, you’re really missing out. I’m a huge fan of his podcast. He shares in-depth marketing tactics you can apply immediately in your business. The way he interviews some of the industry’s leading marketers to get insights for his listeners is quite interesting in my opinion.
And on one episode, he shared something that changed the way I viewed virality. It was an interview with the guest of the podcast, Matt Ford. Matt is an experiential marketer who worked with big brands such as Hulu and Adidas on their experience-driven marketing campaign.
What’s interesting to me is how Matt and his team thought of the ideas for his marketing campaigns. They would set up booths or “physical assets” to create an unforgettable experience for the customers. This experience would then results in photos that go viral on social media.
Matt states that it was these memorable experiences the customers go through which creates virality on social media. Not the marketing tactics marketers use throughout the campaigns. Virality begins with exceptional customer experience.
For this week’s newsletter, I would like to invite you to listen to this episode of Donald’s podcast. You might learn a thing or two from the interview. You can listen to the podcast on Spotify by clicking on the link below.
